Cycle for Charity

If running is not for you why not consider cycling for charity? Cycle for charity is run for charity’s sister site and is quickly becoming the biggest resource on the net for everything charity cycling. Cycling is as popular as running so why not combine it with charity fundraising? Our cycling news will keep you up to date with the world of cycling and provide advice on the top cycling events out there with a charity feel.  Pick from any of our favourite bike rides, Ride London 100, London to Brighton bike rides, London to Paris bike rides or maybe even Lands End to John O’Groats? We are also helping charities to fill their Ride London charity places so why not get involved today? All of these great events can be found in our cycling events calendar

The South West Thames Kidney Fund is registered as a participating charity for the 2013 FSI Challenge, and we would love to  have as many runners/walkers as possible. The event will be located at Thornbridge Hall, Ashford in the Water, Derbyshire DE45 1NZ.   If you and/or your friends decide to apply for places, contact us  for sponsor forms or information on online fundraising.

Camping is available for charity runners and supporters!  Toilets, showers and even warm water are provided, so you can camp in comfort.  If you’re travelling from far away, or simply fancy a camping experience, then you are welcome to arrive on the grounds on Friday evening.  Anybody arriving at the CHALLENGE on the Saturday who would like to stay on the Saturday night is also welcome. Although Thornbridge Hall security staff will be around the grounds you will be left to your own devices.  You will have to cater for yourself in the Friday evening and for breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday – or you could pop into the nearby picturesque town of Bakewell for a bite to eat.  On the Saturday evening the FSI will prepare a barbecue featuring burgers, delicious sausages and great salads  (vegetarian option available).  This is not just any old barbecue so there will be a small cost per head (paid on the day).  Ensure that you notify the FSI on the camping form (attached) if you want some barbecue on Saturday evening so that they can plan on how much food they need to order.

Thornbridge Hall Garden Party  For anyone who wants to stay until Sunday there will be a garden party at the Hall.  Check their website for further details if you are interested.
