World Kidney Day: The Mission Statement
The mission of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. |
| |
| Everyone is encouraged to learn more about their kidneys and become aware that |
| Kidney Disease is Common, Harmful and Treatable. |
| |
On 11 March 2010 the South West Thames Kidney Fund will take part in |
the 5th World Kidney Day. |
|
| This year’s campaign will focus on diabetes, the most common cause of kidney failure. The 2009 campaign focused on high blood pressure as one of the key symptoms and causes of Chronic Kidney Disease |
|
| The South West Thames Kidney Fund is planning activities in several locations around the South West Thames area and Surrey on that day where we will have Information, Advice, Educational programs, Testing facilities and more. |
|
We will need enthusiastic people to man our stalls and health professionals to take blood pressures etc. and answer questions. If you are able to help, please email us or telephone 020 8296 3698. |
